Canada has by far the most polar bear hunting among the five range states. It is also the only country where it is allowed for commercial trade. Most of the polar bear hunting is performed by hunters in Nunvavut with about 85% of the total polar bear hunting in Canada, with NWT as the second biggest polar bear hunting area.

While some hunter prefer to use the polar bear fur and meat for own consumption and use, the market for commercial trade is significant and also the hunting for trophies.
